Felisha Ruby Kapayou, "Wa-sa-me-a", 33, of Tama, passed away, Sunday, May 4, 2025, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A Traditional Wake will be held Monday, May 5, 2025, at the Fox Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement, rural Tama. A Traditional Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Meskwaki Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement, rural Tama.

Felisha was born on May 2, 1992, in Baraboo, WI., the daughter of Roy Kapayou Jr. and Marsha Funmaker.

Felisha was a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed beading, watching Green Bay Packers, pow-wows, gaming and listening to music. Her greatest joy was spending time with her kids.

Survivors include her children, Austyn Kapayou "Ka-ka-moto", Lyle Kapayou "Ki-we-ska-ka", and Ilana Cortana Bear "Wi-di-ko-we"; father, Roy Kapayou Jr.; mother, Marsha Funmaker; partner, Dayton Bear; sisters, Shelene Balderas, Nizhoni Douglas, Stacy Kapayou, Kenesha Funmaker, Mya Johnson, and Jasmine Cooley; brothers, Bryce Kapayou, Kunu Johnson, Marshall Kapayou, and Andrew Rave Jr.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Roy and Laura Kapayou Sr., Grandma, Ruby, Choka Kenneth Funmaker Sr., Tega Nelson Funmaker, and Bradford Funmaker; aunts, Carolyn Kapayou, Jami Kapayou, and Monica Funmaker; and cousin, Mister Walker.
