Obituary

TAMA- Florence Mae Workman, age 76, of Tama, died on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at her home under the care of Iowa River Hospice due to a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be held Monday, April 14, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Tama with Pastor John Janke officiating. A private family interment will be held prior to the services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Public visitation will be held Sunday, April 13, 2008 from 1-3 PM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Florence Mae Workman was born on December 9, 1931, in Petaluma, CA, the daughter of George and Esther (Rorden) Hill.
She graduated from Vacaville High School in Vacaville, CA.
On June 3, 1950, she was united in marriage to Earl Franklin Workman in Vacaville, CA. They lived most of their married life in Stockton, CA. Florence was a respiratory therapist. The couple moved to Tama in 1994. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Tama, where she was a Sunday School teacher. Florence was a volunteer at the South Tama Schools for over ten years. She enjoyed reading, needlework, gardening, and traveling. Florence's greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Earl in 2002; and one son, Paul Workman.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Anne (Richard) Watson of Tucson, AZ, Virginia (Jim) Elliott of Tama, and Joan Robenseifner of Washington state; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles (Betty) Hill of Mountain Ranch, CA, and George (Rodene) Hill of Oak Park, MO; one sister, Barbara Brown of Washington state; and several nieces and nephews.
