Obituary

Floyd Neal Seth, 60, of Chelsea passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Toledo with Pastor Doug Darnold officiating. Interment will follow at Rector Cemetery in rural Chelsea. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Floyd was born on February 17, 1954, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of LaVern and Lida May (Peterson) Seth.
He graduated in 1972 from South Tama High School, attended Iowa State and then went on to get his Electrician training at Northwest Iowa Technical College.
He was married to Jo Ann Dillenger and to that union they had a son Eric. They later divorced. On December 22, 2001, he married Shelly Brandt Sieck at the Meskwaki Friends Church in Tama and to this union he welcomed three stepchildren. Floyd worked at John Deere in Waterloo as an electrician. He was a member of the United Auto Workers #838 Union. Floyd enjoyed fishing, tractor pulls, drag races, car shows and tending his flowers. He also liked collecting butterflies. Floyd's greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Shelly of Chelsea; a son, Eric (Honda) Seth of Tama; three stepchildren, Mike (Tracy) Sieck of Belle Plaine, Bradley Sieck of Tama and Kimberly Sieck of Fairfax; six grandchildren, Korbin and Isabel Seth, Nathan and Brayden Clemann, and Abigail and Kyler Sieck; his father, LaVern Seth of Toledo; four brothers, Daniel (Jyotsna) Seth of Canyon, TX, David (Susan) Seth of Coffeen, IL, Timothy Seth of Waterloo and Paul (Theresa) Seth of Fairview, NC; two nieces; two nephews; his mother-in-law, Darlene Brandt of Tama; and his dog, Scruff.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lida May; his father-in-law, Carl Brandt; and a brother-in-law, David Brandt.
