TAMA-Frank Curtis Seymour, 83, of rural Tama, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at his home under care of Iowa Hospice. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Assembly of God Church in Tama. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Friday, January 13, 2012 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Frank was born on March 18, 1928, in rural Tama on the Meskwaki Settlement, the son of Michael and Sophia (Tesson) Seymour.
On May 6, 1955, he was united in marriage to Pat Blocker in Bethany, Missouri. Frank was a well known musician in the area. He was employed as a laborer at Kiowa Corporation for twenty-seven years and also worked for the railroad. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Tama. Frank loved to fish, hunt and trap.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Bruce Wayne Seymour; brothers, Robert Seymour, Harold Snow and two infant brothers; and two sisters, Irene Seymour and Elaine Seymour.
Survivors include his wife, Pat of Tama; his children, Curtis Seymour of Tama, Norman (Cheryl) Seymour of Tama, Dwayne Seymour of Tama, Charlie Seymour of Tama, Michelle Lee (Tom) Grimes of Toledo and Ira Dean (Megan) Seymour of Tama; twenty-three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Iola Snow of Tama; his adopted brothers, Vernon Jefferson and Victor White; and his adopted sister, Doris Poweshiek-American Horse.
A memorial fund has been established.
