TOLEDO-Fred Raymond Rogers, age 86, a resident of the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown and formerly of Toledo and Apache Junction, AZ, died Monday, December 14, 2009 at the VA Home. A private family Graveside Service will be held.
Fred was born on August 15, 1923, in Tacoma, Washington, the son of Fred and Ruth Lois (Benedict) Rogers.
He served his country in the Army during World War II.
Fred had previously worked at the VA Hospital in Iowa City. Fred loved to travel and went to many places across the U.S. He spent many winters in Arkansas. He also enjoyed genealogy.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a sister, Joyce Shadden.
Survivors include a sister, Priscilla Willson of Toledo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
