CLUTIER-Frederick "Fred" W. Dvorak, age 62, of Cedar Rapids and formerly of Clutier, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday, May 18, 2009 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Deacon Joe Behounek officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in rural Toledo. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Frederick was born on October 16, 1946, in Vinton, Iowa, the son of Fred E. and Barbara H. (Zmolek) Dvorak.
He attended Clutier Public School. Fred was a special needs person and was proud of his accomplishment of riding a two-wheel bike. He loved attending Camp Courageous in Monticello and Milestones in Cedar Rapids. Fred was a member of the KD Lodge and enjoyed fishing, swimming, miniature golf, and bowling. He lived with family until three years ago when he moved into Living Center West in Cedar Rapids.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a sister, Barbara.
Survivors include two brothers, Eugene (Delores Calkins) Dvorak of Clutier and David (Peg) Dvorak of Elberon; two sisters, Grace (Kent) Meyer of Cedar Rapids and Ann (Dick) O'Connor of Surprise, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
