Gailey R. Morgan Jr., 78, of Toledo, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. A Traditional Wake will be held Monday evening, April 4, 2016 at the Fox Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Morgan Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama with Michael Keahna as speaker.
Gailey was born on September 9, 1937, in Toledo, Iowa, the son of Gailey R. and Clara (Youngbear) Morgan Sr..
Gailey served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1955 at the age of seventeen and retired in 1976.
On September 16, 1966, he married Maria Chris Pino in Hanford, CA. He lived and worked in San Diego until 2000 and then moved back to the Meskwaki Settlement until his death.
Preceding him in death were his paternal and maternal grandparents; his parents; his wife, Chris; three brothers, Gary, Gerald and Gaylen Morgan; and two nephews, Tony Kapayou and George Sanache.
Survivors include his children, Gary and Gerilyn Morgan of Tama, Gaylord Morgan of San Diego, CA and Gailey (Rachel) Morgan III of Tesuque Pueblo, NM; granddaughters, Ganine and Gailene and grandson, Gailey IV all of Tesuque Pueblo, NM; sisters, Sylvia Kapayou of Tama, Loretta Begay of Phoenix, AZ and Marlene Morgan of Tama; one brother, Gene Morgan of Tama; adopted brothers, Adrian Pushetonequa, Buggone Davenport, Gregory Keahna and Jack Aquilar; and numerous nephews and nieces.
