Obituary

TAMA- George Henry Davis Sr., 57, and Diana "Diane" Mae Davis, 54, of Tama died Friday, November 5, 2010, at home as a result of a house fire. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Darren Mathes officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 5-8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
George was born on January 3, 1953, in Oxford, Iowa, the son of William and June (Beggs) Davis.
Diana was born on November 3, 1956, in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of James and Edna Mae (Speck) Hainline.
George served his country in the U.S. Marines.
George and Diane were married on January 1, 1984, in Benton County. George was formerly a construction worker and most recently worked for Lyon's Jerseys in Toledo. Diane was a Wal-Mart associate in Marshalltown working in many different departments. They both enjoyed going to the Casino, Diane playing Bingo and George the slot machines. Diane collected Betty Boop and Elvis memorabilia and was fond of actor Sam Elliott. George loved horses and all kinds of animals. Their greatest joy was spending time with their kids and grandkids and would help anyone that was in need.
George was preceded in death by his mother; and a sister, Rosemary Crop. Diane was preceded in death by her mother. They were both preceded in death by a son, Nicholas.
Survivors include their children, Mikul Putney of Marshalltown, Heather Davis of Marshalltown, Shellina (Rigo Garcia) Putney of Tama, Shane Davis of Marshalltown, George (Andrea Baker) Davis II of Malcom and BeLinda Esquivel of Des Moines; fourteen grandchildren, Daniell, Wesley, Jaime, Ryan, Mercedez, Ross, Keianna, Jonathon, Marty, Sully, Marvin, Jorge, Savanna and Samuel. George's siblings, Sylvia Phillips, Ronnie (Marilyn) Biesk, Leslie (Gayle) Denny, Curtis Yoder, and Beth Smith. Diane's father, James Hainline of Branson, MO; her siblings, Gloria (Dave) Stanton, Kathy (Bob) Craun, Jim (Katie) Hainline, Rick (Lori) Speck, Monty (Elena Freeman) Speck, Shelly (Ivan) Potter, Charlie Hainline and Jamie Hainline; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
