TAMA-George Emil Dolash, age 79, of Tama, died Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Stayskal Cemetery in rural Vining.
George was born on October 5, 1930, in rural Chelsea, the son of Albert and Ella (Zeman) Dolash.
He served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean conflict.
His career was farming. George was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and in his younger years he liked bowling.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Arthur in 1955.
Survivors include three sisters, June Nekola of Keystone, Karen Nekola of Elberon and Rosalie Petermeier of Garwin; two brothers, Fred Dolash of Tama and Donald (Sarah) Dolash of Tama; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
