TAMA-Gerald "Ivan" Bartley, 79, of Tama, passed away Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will be held at a future date in Nebraska. Visitation will be held Monday, February 14, 2011 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Gerald was born on January 10, 1932, in Red Cloud, NE, the son of Gerald Everett and Mary Lucille (Elliott) Bartley.
On February 22, 1952, he was united in marriage to Joan Marie McNary in Red Cloud, NE. Ivan was a farmer and retired from Fisher's in Marshalltown. He also worked for Tama County. Ivan was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Tama.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and one brother, Merl Bartley.
Survivors include his wife, Joan of Tama; three sons, Gerald (Janet) Bartley of New Paris, IN, Michael (Dale) Bartley of Moyock, NC and Steven (Elena) Bartley of Fairfax, CA; four grandchildren, Dean Bartley, Tracey Barr, Robert and Shaun Bartley; sixteen great-grandchildren; and several cousins.
Memorials are appreciated to Mercy Hospice in Hiawatha.
