MONTOUR- Gladys Butler, age 95, of Dysart and formerly of Montour, passed away on Saturday morning February 25, 2006, at Sunnycrest Nursing Center in Dysart due to complications of old age. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at 1 PM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Ginny Bass officiating. Interment will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Montour. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, 2006 from 4-8 PM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 PM.
Gladys Butler was born on August 22, 1910, near Montour, Iowa, the daughter of William and Anna Johnson Butler. She attended the Butlerville Country School in rural Tama County and made her home with her parents in rural Montour until 1969, when they sold their farm and moved to Marshalltown. Since 1973, Gladys has resided in various living centers. She was a member of the Montour Area Happy Hour Club. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, poetry, teddy bears and her friends at the care centers.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her cousins and friends.
