Obituary

Gladys Grace Kubalek, 97, of Tama, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM at National Cemetery in rural Vining with Rev. Dewey Grimes officiating.

Gladys was born on April 15, 1916, in Clutier, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Josie (Buresh) Wisner.
On February 16, 1938, she was united in marriage to Joseph George Kubalek at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clutier. Gladys worked as a nurse's aid at Wilson's Nursing Home and then Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. She enjoyed Bingo and spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; two daughters, Marcella Daves and Marie Shook; one granddaughter, Sarah Kubalek; two sisters, Elsie Sieck and Albina Koss; one son-in-law, Ronald Daves; one step-brother, Glen Jesina; and two step-sisters, Mayme Huffman and Blanche Hauschildt.
Survivors include her children, Marion (Rosemary) Kubalek of Ackley, Mayme (Earl J.) Smith of Marion, and Margaret (William Sr.) Matt of Evansdale; a son-in-law, Gary Shook of Tama; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established.
