TAMA- Gladys Marie Lenhart, age 82, of Tama, died Thursday, April 2, 2009 at her home following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama at with Rev. Dewey Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 5 from 2 to 5 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Gladys was born on April 1, 1927 in rural Poweshiek County, the daughter of Clifford and Lulu (Moyer) Heishman. She was a graduate of Tama High School. Gladys was united in marriage to Lewis Lenhart on October 19, 1948 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama. She was a homemaker, and was an avid bowler up until two years ago.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Kenneth and Charles Heishman.
Survivors include her husband Lewis of Tama; two daughters, Laurie (Charles) Shawver of Ashland, MO, and Linda (Mike) Albers of Greenville, NC; and three grandchildren, Phillip, Katy, and Sarah Shawver.
Memorials will be directed to support junior bowling.
