Glendora Allison Mauskemo, 59, of Tama, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. A Traditional Wake will be held Monday evening, March 14, 2016 at the Bear Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 2:00 PM at McIntosh Cemetery on the Settlement with Homer Bear Jr. as speaker.
Glendora was born on January 15, 1957, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Jane Mauskemo.
She was a Language Administrative Assistant at the Meskwaki Language Preservation Department. As a hobby, she liked doing beadwork. Glendora's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and her dog Oscar.
Survivors include three sons, Bruce (Jessi) Mauskemo of Rochester, MN, Lance Mauskemo and Elliott Funmaker Jr. both of Marshalltown; one daughter, Jessica Funmaker of Tama; six brothers, Jack (Sheryl) Aguilar of Marshalltown, Harry Aguilar, Kenneth Mauskemo, Shawn Mauskemo and Todd Mauskemo all of Tama and Kevin Mauskemo of Montour; two sisters, Adri Mauskemo and Joni Mauskemo both of Tama; one uncle, Ernie (Sharon) Mauskemo of Tama; her grandchildren, Ashlynne, Celia, Lily, Caidias, Shayla, Lance Jr., Lyla, Jason, Nevaeh "Minnie", Damien, Brandon, Greyson and Emmalynn; adopted sons, Eric Kapayou of Tama and Adrian Hoag of AZ.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jane Mauskemo Wanatee; two sons, Elton "Mickey" Roberts and Jason Papakee; one granddaughter, Caitlin Noel Mauskemo; her Grandpa and Grandma; five uncles; and four aunts.
