Grace Brandt, 96, of Tama passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with a Vigil Service at 7 PM.


Grace was born on June 16, 1918, at home in rural Tama, Iowa, the daughter of George and Anna (Mihulka) Dolash.
She graduated from Tama High School in 1936.
On February 16, 1942, she was united in marriage to Bertram "Bert" Frederick Brandt at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. Grace was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama and the CCW, and St. Scholastica Circle. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and making rag rugs. Grace always had a big garden and liked cooking and baking, especially kolaches. Most of all, she loved being with her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lynn (Ronald) Betz of Tama and Kay Feisel of Tama; four grandchildren, Warren (Nicole) Betz of Tama, Heather Betz of Tama; Brandi (Rick) Zhorne of Nashville, TN and Gail (Brandon) Lenhart of McCook, NE; seven great-grandchildren, Sierra (Danny Robinson) Betz, Samantha, Sabrina and Shaye Betz, Dakota and Sage Zhorne and Ian Robinson; and one sister, Jeanie Kreigel of Tama.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Bert on February 22, 1979; one son, Steven Lee Brandt; one daughter, Jean Ann in infancy; a son-in-law, Larry Feisel; four brothers, Merle Dolash, Leo Dolash, Rex Dolash and Dale Dolash; and one sister, Mary Gayle Bailey.
A memorial fund has been established.
