TOLEDO-Grace Mabel Schnepf, 95, of Iowa City and formerly of Toledo, passed away, Thursday, November 18, 2010 at her daughter's home in Iowa City under the care of Iowa City Hospice. Private graveside services will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo is handling the arrangements.
Grace was born on February 9, 1915, in rural Vining, the daughter of Vencil and Emma (Sokol) Bartosh.
Grace lived in the Vining area until 1949, then moved north of Traer. In 1954, she moved to Toledo where she resided until October 2010. On March 21st, 1950, she married Conrad Schnepf. They had one daughter, Regina (Schnepf) Crooks. Grace was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Miriam Circle, the Rebbeca Lodge, Royal Neighbors, and several card clubs. She enjoyed playing cards, quilting and gardening.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three sisters, Alice Zeman, Rose Chitty and Agnes in infancy.
Survivors include one daughter, Regina (Lee) Crooks of Iowa City; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Dostal of Clutier; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank her neighbors whose friendship and assistance allowed her to live as long as possible in her Toledo home that she loved so much.
