Granvell D. Robinson, 64, of Tama, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at his home in Tama. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Brian Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Friday, October 2, 2015 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Granvell was born on January 22, 1951, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Walter and Cleo (Butler) Robinson.
He graduated from STC High School in 1969.
He was married to Karen Luther on August 30, 1969 in Unionville, MO and they later divorced. He began seeing Evelyn Reiser in 2008. Granvell was a machine operator at Fisher Controls in Marshalltown and retired in 2013 after thirty-eight years of service. Granvell enjoyed collecting, jewelry, pens, watches, skulls and matchbox cars, especially Corvettes and Harleys. He was a huge music fan. Granvell loved his family and was very devoted to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Valerie (Jesse) Brown of Toledo, Mathew (Beth) Robinson Sr. of Tama and Nicole (Justin) McCoy of Chisago City, MN; his step-children, Joseph Reiser and Elya (Josh) Reiser of Marshalltown; six grandchildren, Nicholas Blanchard, Mathew (Candace) Robinson Jr., Derek McCoy, Kaylynn McCoy, Ashley (Brian) Brown and Wesley (Aubrey) Robinson; two step-grandchildren, Malakai Remeliik and Ezekiel Hawkins; two great-grandchildren; Kaden and Mihkail; mother of his children, Karen Robinson of Tama; special friend, Evelyn Reiser of Tama; one brother, Danny Robinson of Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Nellie Morehead of Toledo; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and one sister, Mary Jo Robinson.
A memorial fund has been established.
