Obituary

Harold D. Brown passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2025, after complications from surgery. He was born in Rover, Arkansas. His family traveled to California where Harold and his siblings spent their childhood. In 1950, he moved to Tama, Iowa and finished high school where he met Carol Ann Pagel. They were united in marriage June 4th, 1957, and began their life together. Harold proudly served his country in the Army stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana. Harold was a graduate of AIB College, Des Moines, Iowa.

Always the consummate provider(s) for family, Harold and Carol resided in Marshalltown where he worked for Fisher Controls. Eventually the dairy industry called the family to Fredericksburg and then made their way to Cedar Falls, Iowa. Harold worked for Young Plumbing and Heating in Waterloo, Iowa for 20 years, retiring in 2000. After Carol passed, Hal moved to Stillwater, Minnesota and resided with daughter Debra. In 2020, he headed South to Orlando, Florida.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and John William Brown, siblings (Joe, Ottis, Ruth, Grace, Willia, Martha and Jim), and loving wife Carol Ann Brown (d. 2006).

Harold is survived by two daughters Lisa and (Rob) Rivera, Debra and (Randy) Rogers, four grandchildren Robert Rivera, Ashlie Smith, Tyler Rogers and Derek Rogers and eleven great-grandchildren. Harold also has nieces and extended family across the United States.

Harold and Carol Brown will be laid to rest on August 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Oak Hill Cemetery, Tama, Iowa. A celebration of life and funeral reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed to Disabled Veterans (DAV).
