Obituary

Harold Eugene Wilkerson, 79, of Toledo, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015, at his home in rural Toledo. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 9 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.

Harold was born on December 13, 1935, in rural Toledo, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Pearl (Youngman) Wilkerson.
Harold served his country in the U.S. Army.
On June 3, 1963, he married Pearl Klenk in Blair, Nebraska. She passed away in 1987. He then married Carla Walker Beck on April 6, 2001 in Mystic, Connecticut. Harold was a lifelong farmer and retired from Pioneer Hi-Bred International where he started working in 1968. He enjoyed tractor pulling events but his passion in life was farming and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Carla of Toledo; three sons, Gary (Rebecca) Wilkerson of Mondamin, IA, Larry (Debbie) Wilkerson of Grand Island, NE and Lanny (Scott) Wilkerson of Cedar Rapids; his stepchildren, Stacey (Ken) Brown of Pleasant Hill, Stephanie (Matthew) Rousseau of Brimfield, MA and David (Jennifer) Beck of Altoona; four grandchildren, Caitlin (Christian) Jensen of Philip, SD, Hannah (Peter) Barthel of Rosen, MN, Ethan and Nakia Wilkerson of Grand Island, NE; six step-grandchildren, Ryan and Matt Brown, Sara and Eric Rousseau, and Logan and Allison Beck; three brothers, Wayne (Shirley) Wilkerson of Toledo, Theron (Doris) Wilkerson of Garwin and Lynn (Lorraine) Wilkerson of Tama; one sister, Karlene Sells of Tama; and many nieces, nephews and the extended Klenk family.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Pearl; and a brother-in-law, Duane Sells.
