Obituary

TOLEDO-Harriet Lucille Curry, 90, a resident of Carrington Place in Toledo, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the care center under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Private Graveside Services will be held at a future date at Lincoln Township Cemetery in rural Grundy Center. Public Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2010 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Harriet was born on February 24, 1920, in rural Grundy Center, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Florence (Banner) Dittmer.
She graduated from the Grundy Center High School in 1938.
On November 5, 1946, she was united in marriage to Charles Curry at the Grundy Center Methodist Parsonage. She had formerly worked in private homes as a nurse's aid and Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. Harriet was a member of the Living Faith United Methodist Church in Tama, the Eagles Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She loved crocheting and gardening.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Charles in 1993; one brother, Donald Dittmer; and one sister, Maxine Richards.
Survivors include one daughter, Sue (Jim) Dankbar of Marshalltown; one son, Larry (Joanne) Curry of Villa Park, IL; two grandchildren, Shayna and Miranda Curry; one sister, Irene Albers of Yakima, WA; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to Carrington Place Aviary and Iowa River Hospice.
