Obituary

TAMA-Helen Maxine Posusta, 83, of Tama, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Friday, October 15, 2010 from 5-8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama where there will be a Prayer Service at 5 PM.
Helen was born on February 15, 1927, in rural Reinbeck, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Louise (Rehurek) Plucar.
On October 26, 1948, she was united in marriage to Ernest E. Posusta at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. She worked at the Button Factory growing up and helped her husband doing books for his Standard Oil Tank Wagon business. Helen was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. She loved to bake and cook and enjoyed crafts. She especially enjoyed her family and taking care of her grandkids.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Ernest in 1976; and one brother, George Plucar.
Survivors include three daughters, Paulette (Harry) Hala of Toledo, Kathy (the late Don) Ogren of Lincoln, NE and Marcia (Neil) Sutherland of Ankeny; five grandchildren, Darian (Darcy) Hala, Doug Hala, Paul (Nicki) Hala, Dawn (Matt) Powers and Abby (Nic) Burger; three great-grandsons, Kyuss Brewer-Hala, Sean Powers and Hudson Hala; a sister-in-law, Arlene Posusta and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Art and Betty Posusta; and many nieces and nephews.
