Herman Francis Jacobsen, 80, of Tama, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Premier Estates of Toledo under the care of Iowa River Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 from 9:30 AM until the time of service at St. Patrick Catholic Church.


Herman was born on March 3, 1936, in rural Tama, Iowa, the son of Herman and Anita (Aldrich) Jacobsen.
Herman attended school in South Tama County. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. Herman enjoyed traveling with his family and loved music and old movies.
Survivors include one sister, Patty Ratcliff of Toledo.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Lavonne Jacobsen and Rita Jacobsen; and a brother-in-law, Dick Ratcliff.
