Obituary

TAMA-Isabelle May Kouba, age 92, of Tama, died Wednesday morning, November 15, 2006 at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the Living Faith United Methodist Church in Tama with Pastor Jerry Avise-Rouse officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. There will be no public visitation. Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama is in charge of the arrangements.
Isabelle was born on June 7, 1914 in Sedgwick, Colorado, the daughter of Herbert and Amy (Spire) Dee. After graduating from high school, she attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon. On August 2, 1936, she married Alvin Kouba at the Tama Methodist Church. Isabelle was a homemaker, caring for her home and family. She was a very active member of Living Faith United Methodist Church and was a 63-year member of PEO Chapter EW. Isabelle also volunteered with the Community Clothes Closet and with Meals on Wheels delivery for many years. In addition she was a member of the Oak Hill Cemetery Board. She will always be remembered as willing to help a friend in need, a wonderful cook, and very active in her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin, three sisters Besse Kupka, Beulah Green, and one in infancy, and two brothers Henry Dee and Stanley Dee.
Survivors include three sons Gary (Barbara) Kouba of Cedar Rapids, Douglas (Evonne) Kouba of Leon, and Herbert Kouba of Studio City, California; four grandchildren Jill (Chris) Heilskov, Brent (Kristen) Kouba, Brian (Amanda) Kouba, and Lorie Kouba; five great-grandchildren Ethan and Megan Heilskov, Madalynn and Lourdes Kouba, and Owen Kouba; and two sisters-in-law Lillian McKinney and Inez Dee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Living Faith United Methodist Church – 309 E 11th Street Tama, Iowa, 52339 are appreciated.
