TAMA- Jack Ramsdell, age 82, of Liberty, MO formerly of Tama, died Monday, October 26, 2009 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Phil Borleske officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30 from 12 noon until 1:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Jack was born on March 10, 1927 in Aurora, IL, the son of Glenn and Lucille (Long) Ramsdell. He was united in marriage to Margaret Betz on August 20, 1949 in rural Tama. Jack served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was retired from Churchill Truck Lines. In his spare time, he loved golfing.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife Margaret in 1989; a daughter, Joan Thompson in 1992; one brother, Bud Ramsdell; and one sister, Corrine Wolf.
Survivors include two daughters, Bobbie (Fred) Caldwell of Dickinson, TX, and Mary (Jack) Irby of Olathe, KS; and four grandchildren, Sarah Irby, Lisa Irby, Brian Thompson, and Jennifer Thompson.
A memorial fund has been established.
