Obituary

James Dean Youngbear, 54, of Tama, passed away Friday, July 10, 2020 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. A Traditional Graveside Service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. A Traditional Wake will be held Friday evening, July 10, 2020 at the Bear Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement.

James was born on January 16, 1966 in Marshalltown, IA, the son of Rolland and Rosalind (Kapayou) Youngbear.

James attended South Tama High School and Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. He was an iron worker and welder for Modern Workers and most recently worked at Jiffy Lube in Marshalltown as he was in between jobs. James was proud of his trade and enjoyed his work. In his spare time, he liked going to the casino and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his fiance, Delaine Jefferson of Tama; his children, James Rolland Youngbear, Jayme Delaine Youngbear, and Jameson Dean Youngbear all of Tama; his sisters, Laureen (Reyes) Puentes of Montour and Jeanette Youngbear of Tama; three nieces and four nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother Robert Youngbear.
