TAMA-Janet Elaine Hayek, age 63, died on Thursday, December 7, 2006, in Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa due to a lengthy illness. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Monday, December 11, 2006 from 5-8 PM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 7 PM.
Janet Elaine Hayek was born of June 30, 1943, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Wilbur and Ethel (Stalzer) Neuroth. She graduated from Laurel High School. From her first marriage she had five children; Louanne, Janice, Donald, Marylyn, and Robert.
She married Donald A. Hayek on October 17, 1992 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tama.
Janet was a parts manager for Austin Motors GM dealership in Toledo for thirty-three years and was an Avon representative for many years.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church where she was a member of the CCW. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary. Her hobbies included quilting and bowling.
Preceding her in death was her father, Wilbur Neuroth.
Survivors include her husband, Don of Tama; her mother, Ethel Neuroth of Toledo; three daughters, Louanne (Doug) Sievers of Tama, Janice (Floyd Jr.) Haughey of Tama, and Marylyn (Ray) Wheeler of Des Moines; two sons, Donald (Roxanne) Werner of Des Moines, and Robert (Pam) Werner of Toledo; eight grandchildren, Erin, Nicole, and Whitney Nelson, Heidi and Eric Haughey, Baleigh and Brody Wheeler and Danika Werner; one step-grandson, Joshua Hemann; two step granddaughters, Charity and Cortney Seymour; four brothers, Marvin (Donna) Neuroth of LeGrand, Roger Neuroth of Marshalltown, Gary (Jan) Neuroth of Marshalltown, and Dean (Kendra) Neuroth of Marshalltown; one sister, Cheryl Thompson of Gladbrook; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
