Jerry Dean Kriegel, 68, of Tama, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Sheridan Cemetery in rural Malcom, Iowa.

Jerry was born on December 16, 1949, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Jerold and Betty Jean (Zigler) Kriegel.

He graduated from South Tama High School.

On July 4, 1985, he was united in marriage to Laurie Mason at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Jerry was employed as a truck driver. He enjoyed traveling and liked to tinker. Jerry loved his family and was a "happy" grandpa.

Survivors include his wife, Laurie of Tama; three children, Jerry (Melisa) Kriegel of Belle Plaine, Candace (Chris) Link of Tama, and Rebecca (Brian) Smith of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

A memorial fund has been established.
