TOLEDO-Jessie Iola Ross, age 94, of Toledo, died Sunday, March 4,2007 at her home following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 10:30 AM at Christ United Methodist Church Worship Center in Toledo with Pastor Mary Schnepf officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 6, 2007 from 4-8 PM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Jessie Iola Ross was born on December 15, 1912, in rural Decatur County, the daughter of Orestes and Fannie (Gray) Lyman.
She graduated from Tama High School.
On November 3, 1932, she was united in marriage to Howard Ross in Toledo, Iowa.
Jessie was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Toledo. She enjoyed needlework, gardening and flowers, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Howard on February 14, 2004; four brothers; two sisters; and two great-great grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Harriett Sharp of Marshalltown, Gerald (Mary Ann) Ross of Toledo, Deanna Dickens of Toledo, and Loretta (Ed) Kvapil of Toledo; fourteen grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; fourteen step-great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
