Obituary

TAMA- Joe W. Boriskey, 84, of Tama, passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 at his home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 1, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Brian Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Montour. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 3-6 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Joe was born June 4, 1927, in rural Tama, Iowa, the son of Lester and Sarah (Wolcott) Boriskey.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On April 8, 1950, he was united in marriage to Darlene Hempy. Joe was a farmer his entire working life. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Joe enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and his cabin in Minnesota. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his siblings, Emily Geiger, Frank Boriskey Sr., and Margaret Brezina.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene of Tama; three daughters, Jolene (Marvin) Cibula of Traer, Mary (Eugene) Cibula of Toledo and Ann (Wayne) Neville of Tipton; six grandchildren, Joni (Keith) Wilson, Tim Cibula, Jill (Nathan) Taylor, John Cibula, Katie and Ashley Neville; two great-grandsons, Brice and Austin Taylor; his siblings, Helen (Rudy) Brezina, Dorothy Denbow, Fran (Darroll) White, Carole (Leonard) Dvorak and Jerry (Sylvia) Boriskey.
