TAMA-Jonette Lee Lincoln, age 46, of Tama, died Tuesday April 27, 2010 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Thursday, April 29, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Meskwaki Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement with Homer Bear Jr. as speaker. A wake will be held Wednesday evening, April 28, 2010 at the Milo Buffalo Jr. residence on the settlement.
Jonette Lee Lincoln was born on February 6, 1964, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Roy Oliver and Lucy (Benson) Lincoln Sr.
She received her education at South Tama Schools and Riverside Indian School.
Jonette enjoyed spending time with family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, Nascar, reading books, watching Golden Girls and Andy Griffith, going to concerts and having an overall good time.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, Roy Oliver Lincoln Jr. and Sam Oliver Lincoln.
Survivors include her daughters, Narissa (Ryan) Papakee of Tama and Natrisha Banks of Marshalltown; her long-time companion, Milo Buffalo Jr. of Tama; her brothers, Elliott (Barb) Lincoln, Aaron (Gayle) Walker, Evan Kapayou, Clyde Papakee Jr., Brian Papakee and Lamont Papakee all of Tama; her sisters, Julie (Chris) Buffalo, Judy Lincoln, Clydene (Adolph) Bear, Monica Papakee, Alicia (Odie) Oldbear and Kelly Sam all of Tama; her adopted parents, Clyde and Geneva Papakee Sr.; her grandchildren, Eduardo, Yesenia, Royvaughn, Lusiano, Jayrin, Dionysus, Ryan Jr. and Xander; her nieces, Starla (Redmon), Kayla and Alyssa; and nephews, Phillip and Allen and many more nieces, nephews and cousins.
