Jose Luis Gonzalez, 18, of Toledo passed on Sunday, June 8, 2014 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 13, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. Interment will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Jose was born on June 15, 1995, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Miguel Gonzalez Gasca and Wanda Renaud.
Jose graduated from South Tama High School in 2013. He worked on the floor crew at the Meskwaki Bingo & Casino. Jose enjoyed his friends and being on his phone. In his younger years, he liked playing soccer.
Survivors include his mother, Wanda Renaud (Luis Castanon) of Toledo; his father, Miguel Gonzalez Gasca (Maria Guadalupe) of Denison; a daughter, Joselyn Gonzalez Wanatee of Traer; his siblings, Christina Renaud and Ezequiel Castanon, Miguel, Ivan, Fatima, Jennifer and Emily Gonzalez; his grandparents, Mike and Annie Renaud of Toledo, Rodolfo and Raquel Gonzalez of Mexico; and several aunts, uncle and cousins.
