Obituary

TAMA– Joseph Steve Rohach, age 84, of Tama, died Monday, May 29, 2006 in his home in Tama following a sudden illness. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2006, at 10:30 AM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Father Michael Mescher officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Patrick's Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Joseph Steve Rohach was born on August 21, 1921, in rural Tama County, the son of Louis and Clara Guyrek Rohach.
On March 17, 1960, he was united in marriage to Inez Davenport in Tama.
He was previously employed in maintenance at Gra-Iron Foundry in Marshalltown and had formerly farmed and worked security.
Joseph was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, AFLCIO Iron Workers Union and the NRA. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and teaching his grandchildren how to hunt and fish. He especially loved his dog " Sandy".
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Inez in 1998; one brother, Louis; and three sisters, Margaret, Mayme and Clara.
Survivors include two sons, Lloyd (Kim) Rohach of Toledo, and Larry (Paula) Rohach of Tama; one daughter, Jeannie (Terry) Hopper of East Dubuque, IL; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Elsie Hand of Tama and Ann Zigmund of Clearwater, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
