Obituary

CLUTIER-Joyce Adel Hosek, 83, of Clutier, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Clutier Community Church in Clutier with Pastor James Perry officiating. Interment will follow at Oneida Cemetery in rural Clutier. Visitation will be held Friday, November 5, 2010 from 5 – 8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Clutier Chapel.
Joyce was born on June 22, 1927, in Lone Tree, SD, the daughter of Clifford and Beulah (Madsen) Davis.
She graduated from Toledo High School in 1945.
On February 10, 1946, she was united in marriage to Edward Hosek at the Toledo Methodist Church. Joyce was a bookkeeper for Wieck's Feed and Livestock in Clutier for over twenty years. She was a member of the Clutier Community Church. Joyce was a wonderful cook and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Howard Davis; a sister and brother-in-law, Ada Ruth and Joe Pothen; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Davis.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-four years, Edward Hosek of Clutier; two sons, Duane (Linda) Hosek and Dennis (Janet) Hosek of Clutier; one daughter, Diane (the late Lyal) Owens of Traer; one brother, Lester (Sue) Davis of Johnston; eight grandchildren, Penny (Rob) Soat, Paul Cizek, Dione (Jim) Gisch, Sheri Hosek, Jana Hosek, Jason (Amy) Hosek, Justin Hosek and Jamie Hosek and; twelve great-grandchildren, Abby Isbell, Channing, Tania and Chase Soat, Lucas, Maxwell and Josef Cizek, Jonathan Kelso, Ethan Hosek, Dylan, Ryan and Mason Hosek.
