Judith Kay Kenyon, 77, of Tama, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at Central Iowa Healthcare in Marshalltown. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 24, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Brian Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Judy was born on January 8, 1938, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Mildred (Johnson) Needham.
She graduated from Emmetsburg High School and the secretarial program at the American Institute of Business in Des Moines.
On September 28, 1963, she was united in marriage to Raymond Craig Kenyon in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Judy previously worked at Gene's Super Valu in Toledo, Mosebach, Griffith and Associates in Tama, Tama State Bank and was the Accounts Payable Clerk at the South Tama County Schools for over twenty-five years. Judy was a member of Living Faith United Methodist Church in Tama. Judy enjoyed playing bridge and going to the casino. She was an avid fan of the University of Iowa Hawkeyes football and basketball teams. Judy also loved to read, go to lunch and visit with friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Doug (Patti) Kenyon of Bettendorf, Darren (Jill) Kenyon of Andover, MN and Todd (Tammy) Kenyon of Larchwood; five grandchildren, Alex, Niko, Tyler, Hadley and Harper; one brother, John (Lynda) Needham of Winston-Salem, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Raymond on July 1, 2009; one brother, Gerald Needham; and one sister, Lois Diercks.
A memorial fund has been established.
