OLEDO- Judy Marie Bjork, age 68, of Toledo passed away Monday, November 1, 2010 at her home under the care of her husband Vic and Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Christ United Methodist Church Worship Center in Toledo with Pastor Brian Oliver officiating. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church.
Judy was born on June 11, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of James William and W. Marjorie (Dellit) Smith. She was a graduate of Clinton High School and Westmar College in LeMars, IA.
On May 21, 1966, Judy was united in marriage to Victor Bjork in Clinton, IA. She taught elementary school at several school districts in Illinois and Iowa, most recently in Bennett, IA. She also was the secretary at Christ United Methodist Church for a number of years. At the church she was involved in various committees, the UMW, and was instrumental in starting the clowning program. In her spare time, Judy enjoyed reading and crafts. Her home was always welcome to children and she baby sat for many years.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors include her husband Vic of Toledo; two daughters, Danelle (John) Kvapil of Davenport and Anna Bjork of Urbandale; and her twin sister June Soenksen of Clinton.
