CEDAR RAPIDS-June L. Klima, age 82, of Cedar Rapids and formerly of Tama, died on Saturday, April 8, 2006, in Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids under the care of Hospice of Mercy due to a short illness. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 9:00 AM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastorial Associate Tom Christoffer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Tama. There will be no visitation.
June L. Klima was born on July 13, 1923, in Tama, Iowa, the daughter of James and Anna Kuklick Nekola.
She graduated from Tama High School.
In April of 1943, she was united in marriage to Bernard Joseph Klima at the St. Patrick's Rectory. She had previously worked in hospital food service. She loved to walk and she enjoyed her cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard; one daughter, Carole Jeannette Church; and one brother, Don Nekola.
Survivors include one daughter, Judith (Don) Touney of Ft. Dodge; two sons, James (Susan Bott) Klima of Seattle, WA and Jerry (Lisa) Klima of Penn Yan, NY; three grandchildren, Jenny Bohn, Shawn Touney, and Erin Still; and two great-grandchildren, Carolyn and Caitlyn Still.
