Karlene Mae Foreman, 80, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at her home in Toledo. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. A Memorial Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the Funeral Home.


Karlene was born on February 3, 1935 in Marshalltown, Iowa the daughter of Leonard and Wilma (Princehouse) Abbe. She graduated from Toledo High School. On December 11, 1954, she was united in marriage to Donald Foreman in Marshalltown, Iowa. Karlene worked at the FHA Offices in Toledo and Iowa Falls for many years. After her retirement she enjoyed volunteering at the Tama County Historical Museum. Karlene also enjoyed studying genealogy, collecting knick knacks, and taking care of her plants. She was a member of the Daughters Of The American Revolution and Mayflower Society.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-one years, Donald of Toledo; three children, Deborah (Dave) Wacha of Toledo; Lonnie Foreman of Milford, IA; and Gordon Foreman of Gordon, TX; three grandchildren, Amy (Dan) Parizek, Kelly Wacha, and Adam (Cheri) Foreman; six great-grandchildren, Abbie and Sydney Parizek, MaeLeigh, Kendy, and Kason Wacha, and Shawna Foreman; and a sister, Barb (Perry) Wacha of Marshalltown.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
