Karolyn Ruth Biretz Wright, 66, of Toledo, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at her home. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 6:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. A Memorial Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 4-6 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.


Karolyn was born on August 2, 1948, in Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Adelia (Peters) Biretz. Her family moved to Waterloo, Iowa, where she was educated at West High School in Waterloo. She then attended Pitze's Beauty School in Waterloo. Karolyn had a beauty shop in Waterloo and then later in Tama.
In 1966, she married Alan H. Fisher. To this union she had two sons, Michael A. and Matthew J. Fisher. In 1986, Karolyn married Richard R. Wright. They made their home in Toledo, Iowa.
She enjoyed crafts, baking, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Wright of Toledo; one son, Matthew J. (Maureen "Tina") Fisher of Manhattan, KS; her mother, Adelia Biretz of Waterloo; six siblings, Richard (Mary) Biretz of Waterloo, Janet (Nick) Shackleton of Manly, Kenneth (Deena) Biretz of Fertile, Cynthia (Dave) Bowers of Mason City, Charles (Rebecca) Biretz of Duncannon, PA, and Rebecca (Dan) Johnson of Waterloo; two grandchildren; two step-sons, Scott (Janet) Wright of Avon, CO, and Terry (Lisa) Wright of Fort Worth, TX; six step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her father; one son, Michael A. Fisher; one sister, Kathryn Biretz; one brother, Eugene Biretz; and her grandparents.
A memorial fund has been established.
