Kathryn Bullard "Kwe-kwe-ta-se-no-ge", 83, of Tama, passed away, Sunday, December 8, 2024 at UnityPoint Health-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A Traditional Wake will be held Sunday Evening, December 8, 2024 at the Eagle Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Monday, December 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM at McIntosh Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama with Larry Lasley Sr. as speaker.

Kathryn was born on April 11, 1941, in Tama, Iowa, the daughter of Helen Bullard.

She graduated from South Tama County High School. Kathryn retired from Fisher Controls in Marshalltown and then worked as a CHR for the Meskwaki Tribal Health Clinic and an inventory clerk for the Meskwaki Bingo & Casino.

Kathryn enjoyed playing Bingo at the casino, traveling, going to pow-wows, and watching Westerns. Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren in sports, eating with family, and watching Denver Bronco's football.

Survivors include her daughter, Heather (Joe) Wanatee of Montour; grandchildren, Thane, Quinn, and Megan Wanatee, Benny Bitterlie III, Duke Jefferson, Kelsie York, Zachary (Laurel) Morris, Jarret (Hope) Morris, and Shinobi Wanatee; great-grandchildren, Carmine Arment, Aurelia Morris, Mayvis and Benny Bitterlie IV; sisters, Geneva (Ben) Bitterlie of Chelsea; nephew, Benny (Denise) Bitterlie, Jr. of Chelsea; nieces, Camille (Seth York) Bitterlie of Tama; Amanda (Leif) Morris of Chelsea, Winona Bitterlie of Chelsea, and Joy (Myron Wanatee) Bitterlie of Tama.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Bullard; infant brother; maternal grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.
