Obituary

TOLEDO-Kerry Lea O'Clair Jefferson, 32, of Toledo entered the afterlife on September 25, 2013 after her life was tragically taken from her. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher and Pastor Kenny Mervin officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 4-8 PM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama.

Kerry was born on June 1, 1981, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Dennis and Marlene (Bates) O'Clair.
She graduated from South Tama County High School in 1999 and was currently enrolled at Marshalltown Community College.
On August 24, 2004, Kerry was united in marriage to Dustin Jefferson at Lake Las Vegas, Nevada. Kerry loved to be on the water, in the water and anywhere near it. In her life she was carefree, adventurous, and loved to explore new things. Her curious spirit took her on many spontaneous trips to new places. Kerry's outgoing personality allowed her to make friends near and far. She loved to spoil her nieces and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Kerry loved her dog Lincoln as if he were her child and rarely went anywhere without him. Kerry cherished her many tattoos and there was a story behind each and every one of them. She was a very spiritual person and loved to celebrate any event.
Kerry was a C.N.A. and was previously employed by the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown and worked at the local nursing homes in town. She was passionate about her work and loved to care for the elderly.
Survivors include her husband, Dustin of Tama; her mother, Marlene (Kim Morris) O'Clair of Toledo; a sister, Nicole (Kailyn Struve) Hitchcock of Toledo; two very special nieces, Brooklynn and Madison Hitchcock; brothers-in-law, Cheyenne Hitchcock of Tama, Garrik (Laurie) Davenport of Toledo and Garren (Jessica) Davenport of Tama;
sister-in-law, Garika (Victor) Pesina of Tama; nieces and nephews, Cody and Cory Hitchcock, Nichole and Taylor Davenport, Damian and Ella Davenport, Alma, Victor and Adair Pesina, Elaina, Chelle and Lorraina Martinez, and Durrell Davenport; her aunts and uncles, Elaine and Ronnie Saxton of Emmetsburg, Mark and Betty O'Clair of Traer, Dave and Greta O'Clair of Clarence, and Kim O'Clair of Milford; several cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis O'Clair; and grandparents, Glen and Lynne O'Clair and Paul and Evelyn Bates.
