TAMA-Kristi Jan (Brown) Anderson, age 35, of Tama, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 suddenly in Tama. Traditional Graveside Services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Meskwaki Cemetery on the Settlement in rural Tama with Homer Bear Jr. as Speaker. A Traditional Wake was held on Thursday evening at the Fox Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement, rural Tama.
Kristi was born on July 13, 1973, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Hilda Young Bear and Milton Brown.
She attended South Tama County Schools and Flandreau Indian School in South Dakota. Kristi enjoyed spending time with family and going to the casino.
Preceding her in death were her paternal and maternal grandparents; one brother, Wade; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Survivors include her mother, Hilda Young Bear of Tama; her father, Milton Brown of Toledo; two daughters, Keisha and Kelcey; four sons, Kade, Kadance, Kristopher, and Aiden all of Tama; one sister, Sheila Brown of Tama; three brothers, Gilbert, Conrad, and Vance Brown all of Tama; two adopted brothers, Lou Roberts and Myron Wanatee Jr both of Tama; and two aunts, Uarda Johnson and Alma Ward both of Tama.
