Obituary

Larry Clifford Feisel, 66, of Tama, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Brian Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama with military honors. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 4 - 7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Larry was born on June 9, 1947 in Algona, Iowa, the son of Clifford and June (Chmelik) Feisel.
He graduated from Tama High School in 1965.
Larry served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1966-1968.
He married Sharon Chyma on April 19, 1969, and they had two children, Lanny and Shannon. They later divorced. On November 2, 1991, he was united in marriage to Kay Brandt in Tama, and her daughter, Brandi, joined them in this marriage.
Larry was employed at the Tama Pack for twenty-eight years and later at Montezuma Manufacturing as a press operator, retiring in May of 2013. He also worked at the Tama Livestock Auction since he was a teenager on sale days. He was a stand out football player in High School and later enjoyed football, especially the Chicago Bears. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, hunting, and playing cribbage, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren. Larry was a member of the Tama VFW, and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Tama.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Feisel; and his grandparents.
Survivors include his wife Kay of Tama; one son, Lanny (Missy) Feisel of Belle Plaine; two daughters, Shannon Feisel of Toledo and Brandi (Rick) Zhorne of Nashville, TN; four grandsons, Lane and Wyatt Feisel, and Dakota and Sage Zhorne; his mother, June Feisel of Tama; and a brother, David (Avon) Feisel of Chariton.
