Leo B. Hersom, 75, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014 at his home. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 2 PM at the New York Cemetery in Millerton, Iowa. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Leo was born on July 10, 1938, in Fonda, Iowa, the son of Lyle and Thelma (Layman) Hersom.
Leo served his country in the U.S. Navy and Iowa National Guard.
He was united in marriage to Joretta Fetters on March 2, 1960, at the Church of Christ in Bethlehem, Iowa. Leo worked as a appliance repairman, retiring from Thomas Company in Tama. He also was an employee at the Meskwaki Bingo & Casino.
Survivors include three sons, Kirk (Tami) Hersom of Huxley, Kevin (Michele) Hersom of Cedar Falls and Kendall Hersom of Toledo; six grandchildren, Justin, Travis, Paige, Madison, Cheyenne and Shawna; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Baylee; two sisters, Rose (Roy) Ballanger of Seymour and Darlene (Mickey) Hutchinson of Unionville, MO
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Joretta on October 3, 2008; and a brother, Davey Ray.
A memorial fund has been established.
