Obituary

TAMA-Leo "A-do-ta-na" Morgan, 79, of Tama, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at his home under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Thursday, December 26, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Meskwaki Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama with Michael Keahna as speaker. A Traditional Wake will be held Wednesday evening, December 25, 2013 at the Fox Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama.
Leo was born on July 7, 1934, in Genoa, Nebraska, the son of Conklin Morgan and Eunice Roberts.
He attended the Sac & Fox Day School and Tama High School.
Leo served his country in the U. S. Air Force from 1952-1956, where he was stationed in Germany.
He worked maintenance for the Meskwaki Settlement School, then Fishers in Marshalltown. Leo then worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, where he retired after ten years. He was the ceremonial leader of the Wolf Clan.
He was joined in union on December 20, 1969, to Cynthia Ann Scott in Tama, Iowa, where he resided for many years. His hobbies included watching football and baseball games, sitting at Hardee's and playing slots at the casino.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Darlene Roberts; brothers, Andy, Douglas, and Terry Roberts.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; four sisters, Nora Chavez, Imogene Roberts, Donna Roberts and Ernestine Keahna; one son, Leland Morgan; two daughters, Linda and LeAnn Morgan; other children, Rose, Natalie, Brandon Sr., and Clyde Jr.; special cousins, Bernadine Lasley, Stephanie Whitebreast and Diana Kearney; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and many extended adopted family.
