Leona Youngbear Colbeth, 82, of Montour, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 in Divernon, IL. A Traditional Wake will be held Sunday evening, July 19, 2015 at the Bear Clan Ceremonial Building on the Settlement. Traditional Services will be held Monday, July 20, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Bear Clan Ceremonial Building with Homer Bear as speaker. Cremation Rites will follow.
Leona was born on April 30, 1933, in Tama, Iowa, the daughter of George and Mary (Bullard) Youngbear.
She graduated from Central High School in Davenport, Iowa.
Leona served her country in the U.S. Navy.
On April 16, 1957, she married Ralph Colbeth. She was a Nurse's Aide. Leona enjoyed playing the dulcimer and guitar. She also enjoyed crocheting, making desserts, reading, John Wayne movies and Bluegrass music. She also was a collector of dolls.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph of Montour; and one daughter, Janan (Kurt) Mohler of Divernon, IL; one granddaughter, Sarah; several nieces, nephews, cousins and grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three sisters, Gloria Azure, Joan Azure and Iva Lee Roy; and one brother, George Youngbear Jr.
Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo is assisting the family with the arrangements.
