Obituary

Llana Jean Bennett, 59, of Waterloo and formerly of Montour, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023 at UnityPoint-Allen Hospital in Waterloo. Visitation will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with a Graveside Service to follow at 12:30 PM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama.

Llana was born on November 8, 1963, in Green Bay, WI, the daughter of William and Beverly (Balza) Naniot.

She graduated from South Tama High School in 1983. She attended Marshalltown Community College for her CNA and also a degree in shorthand.

She was married to Steven Bennett and they later divorced.

Llana formerly worked at Rubes in Montour and the Meskwaki Trading Post. She was also a CNA for a period of time.

Llana enjoyed crocheting, crafts, word searches, gardening, camping and fishing. She also enjoyed going to country music concerts. Baking with her granddaughter was one of her favorite things and she was great at making Macaroni & Cheese.

Survivors include three children, Erin Wiebensohn (Mike Anglum) of Waterloo, Emily Bennett of Tama and David (Celeste) Bennett of Crestwood, KY; two grandchildren, Lane Ellingson and Bryn Wiebensohn; one sister, Gail (Nick) Plavets of Keystone; and six nephews, Dustin (Emily) Naniot, Louis (Colleen) Naniot, Ben (Beth) Naniot, Zack (Chelsea) Naniot, Will Plavets and Henry (Sarah) Plavets.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and one brother, Eugene Naniot.
