Obituary

Logun Lee Freese, 23, of Tama, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.  Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.

Logun was born on January 8, 2000, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Dale Freese and Shari Youngbear. He graduated from South Tama County High School in 2018.

Logun loved fishing and his dogs and cats. He played football, basketball, bowling and was always spending time with his friends and family. He enjoyed vacations with his best friend, Skyler, and Scott and Karen. Logun was proud to be an uncle, starting when he was two years old.

Survivors include his mother, Shari Youngbear of Tama; siblings, Tonya (Brett) Branan of Tama and Colt Freese of Colorado; grandparents, Duane and Juanita Freese of Toledo; aunts and uncles, Brenda Youngbear, Renetta (Bob) Plander, Terri Ranabargar, Timmy Youngbear, Rick Youngbear, Dallas (Edie) Freese and Ivy (Ed) Freese; Godparents, Karen and Scott Steuhm; and nephews, Vincent (Savannah), Haydin and Eligh Branan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Freese; maternal grandparents, Margaret and Stanley Youngbear; uncle, Dave Ranabargar; aunt, Betty Schoen and cousin, Gerald Roberts.
