Lori Jo Kriegel, 56, of Tama, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Memorial Visitation will be Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.

Lori was born on September 29, 1968 in Marshalltown, the daughter of Richard and Jo Ann (Werner) Kriegel.

In 1987, she graduated from South Tama High School. She worked at JBS in Marshalltown for 15 years, most recently in the Human Resource Department. Lori loved to read, play games on the computer and visit the casino. She had a great group of close friends, but enjoyed the time with her family the most. She also had a joy of collecting hippos, purses, shoes and decorating for the holidays.

Survivors include her mother, Jo Ann Kriegel of Tama; two sisters, Kim Morrison of Newton and Deanna (Mark) Smith of State Center; nephews, Ty Smith and Christian (Haleigh) Morrison; nieces, Samantha (Jason) Bogue and Ashley (Tim) Bell; several grand nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her father, "Dick"; both sets of grandparents; and a niece, Michelle Morrison.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
