TOLEDO-Lorraine Marie Zmolek, age 80, of Toledo, passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Carrington Place of Toledo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher as celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in rural Toledo. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 5 until 7 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama where there will be a Vigil Service and Rosary at 7 PM.
Lorraine was born on October 19, 1929, in rural Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of William and Anna (Seda) Biley.
She graduated from Toledo High School.
On February 14, 1950, she was united in marriage to Stanley John Zmolek at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in rural Toledo. Lorraine was a homemaker and after raising her family, she worked at Big T and Sunny Hill Care Center. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama where she was in CCW. Lorraine loved to cook, bake, crochet, play cards, play the organ and piano.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her kids and grandkids.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Stanley John Zmolek in 1992.
Survivors include four children, Elaine (Daryl) McPherson of Irving, TX, Gary (Dora) Zmolek of Toledo, Lester Zmolek of Marion, and Wayne (Dianne) Zmolek of Somonauk, IL; ten grandchildren, Angie (Matt) Leek, Heather (Terry) Baughman, Steph (Matt) Babinat, Matt (Shayna) Zmolek, Keely (Corey) Upah, Heidi (Tony) Pulido, Katie (Tim) Stamps, Mike (Deanna) Zmolek, Mitch Zmolek and Brody Zmolek; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Bernice (Marvin) Willer of Tama; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
