Lotus Leighton Bear, age 1, of Tama, passed away, Thursday, December 25, 2025 at UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown Hospital. A Traditional Wake will be held Friday, December 26, 2025 at the Bear Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement, rural Tama. A Traditional Graveside Service will be held Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Meskwaki Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement, rural Tama.

Lotus was born on December 3, 2024, in Grinnell, Iowa, the son of Lucius Bear and Andriea Flores.

Lotus was filled with a light that touched everyone around him. He was a happy, camera-loving, yo-gabba-gabba obsessed baby. Lotus enjoyed all food, mostly pizza. And you can't forget about those puffs.

Survivors include his mom, Andriea; dad, Lucius; aunts and uncles, Martha (Lexi), Memo (Adi), Ale, Marissa, Andres, and Nena; Grandma Kristy and Grandpa Andres; Grandpa Adolph, Koko Clydene; cousins, Allias and Genevieve; Grandpa Lucius, Grandpa Travis; aunt Sérei; and uncle Lane.

He was preceded in death by his grandma, Martha.
